I can go into brain-freeze when faced with too many choices and too few resources. At the end of the school year, we laugh about brain-fog and goofed logistics when weather cancels sports events.

The powerful YouTube video Still-Faced Mom is illuminating! It’s only 2 minutes – watch it twice. A baby will react within two minutes to a caregiver or parent with an avoidant-attachment style. I don’t want to have dismissive or avoidant-attachment styles with my students, readers, friends, or family. 

My attitude is positive: I find a way or make a way. Staying in the victim role puts me in mind-prison with no escape. My action is to make a choice and if it doesn’t work, I can re-choose it in a timely manner without freezing up again. 

My actions and attitudes are mine alone. I create my own reality and can rise beyond what I cannot control. I lived through the calamity and survived. Then, I live with it in gratitude that I’m still here.

Mission Statement: I am committed to being an effective member of the global digital community. Montana Cat Tales for Life-Long Learners, LLC publishes children’s picture books for ages 4-8, on earth science; emotions and feelings; and social-emotional learning (SEL). These books work to help children understand themselves, their place in the world through animal characters and human companions, and to find their authentic Voice. They provide Learning-to-Learn Skills for Early Readers, sight-words, and phonics for academic enrichment. Her chapter books are WWII historical fiction and help students to read between-the-lines while using critical thinking skills.
